JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

Dear Readers,

After a short break we are happy to be sending out a blog post again!

Meanwhile we have arrived back home safely to cold Austria, where the weather is such a contrast to the warm and sunny countries we just visited.

Today we are going to review the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai. It is the tallest hotel in the entire world and we were so excited to get to overnight there.

Pulling up to the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai was an experience in itself, because when we arrived we were treated as if we were a king and a queen. The doors to our car opened and from that moment on we weren’t allowed to worry about anything else than enjoying ourselves. The lobby was grand and decorated with tons of Christmas ornaments and beautiful flowers. In general, we are not fans of Christmas decorations in warm countries because we are simply not used to them but JW Marriott Marquis Dubai decorated everything so tastefully that we were surprised in a positive way.

We checked in and were so excited to see what the hotel had to offer that we took a quick look around. The first thing we checked out was “La Farine” a beautiful bakery that is open 24/7. “La Farine” had the most extravagant cakes on display that we had ever seen.

Tired from travelling, we decided to go to our room which was nice and sophistacatedly decorated. We ordered room service and were surprised at how fast the service was, but to be fair it was 2 a.m.

The beds were comfortable and the sheets were super soft. Although we only got 30 minutes sleep it definitely was a relaxing power nap.

The next day after going on our hot air balloon ride, we got back to the hotel and decided to go swimming and enjoy the pool bar.

The pool was a little too cold for the weather that day since it was a bit windy, but in general if we had had more time and it had been super warm outside we would have loved to lounge by the pool and get our tan on. 🙂

The view from the pool bar was fantastic since you get the perfect view of the Dubai skyline including the Burj Khalifa.

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai was also very accommodating to our late evening flight and they gave us a late checkout at 5 p.m. This was super and this way we could shower and pack calmly before leaving for the airport.

We stayed at another hotel in Dubai before and comparing the two we would definitely recommend the JW Marriott. This hotel is really fun to stay at if you are visiting Dubai for a short time. They also offer a shuttle to the Dubai Mall every 15 minutes which is practical. All in all, we highly recommend this hotel! Plus you get to say you have stayed in the tallest hotel in the world, that’s what Dubai is all about – doing the most extravagant things: tallest hotel, tallest building, fastest car and so much more!

Hope you all are having a great January
